That day, though........

Dreaming of the clear blue skies of Texas that March morning two years ago.  It's too cold and dreary for these old bones here in my neck of the woods today.  I've spent a good part of it just feeding and watching the birds in the yard.  I've seen a ton of cardinals and bluejays; my resident woodpecker (Woody), and a multitude of others.

Stay warm, eat yummy comfort food, pray a lot.  It's almost ground hog's day! 😉

Keep it simple

I went to Goodwill this morning as I often do when I'm in town. I found this sweet teacup and saucer set. I have a few other sets which I originally bought to have tea with my granddaughters when they were in town.  We would make sure and have tea, finger sandwiches and cookies one afternoon during their visit.

When I saw this pretty little set --it automatically reminded me of my own grandma as well. She always drank coffee out of a pretty cup with a saucer. In fact she would pour her hot coffee into the saucer and sip from it. She was such a lady. That cup brought back a flood of memories.

I have one granddaughter that now lives near me. And four grandsons. The kids often come next door for hot cocoa when the weather turns cool. I always let her drink out of a pretty teacup for her hot 'toto'.

Then it occurred to me what was in plain sight. For Christmas I'm going to gift her one of my  pretty teacups.  I asked her mama if that was weird, but she replied sweetly "add some tea bags and a small muffin mix and you're good".

Maybe someday when this granddaughter is all grown up, sitting at her own kitchen table sipping a cup of tea [or toto], she'll still have that cup and she'll remember me.

Blessings this day, the Feast of St Lucy.

Until next time, Kellie. ☕☕☕❤❤❤

A new day

Have you ever awakened and felt you're a changed person.  I've had an awakening- about myself.  And friends, it isn't pretty.  Learning things about yourself can be a hard lesson.

Now, what to do about it.  I can see the road ahead won't be easy.  But it's the only way. The only way to complete peace and joy.

I thought I knew myself, but am seeing myself as others do and I don't like what I see.  Today is a new day.

I'm ready, Lord. With You I can do all things.

Hey, you.

Hey, you! Yeah, I'm talking to you. Did you know ......... That God loves you? Did you know that He loves you even when we are most unlovable.

Have you ever been in a place where you're having a hard time forgiving yourself? Because to be honest I don't know anyone who can say they haven't. But there's one thing to remember and that is if God can forgive us, and He does if we ask for it, then we have to forgive ourselves.

Is God hurt when we go against Him and His gifts? Of course He is hurt--He's hurt like a father whose child has turned against his goodness. Like any good father God knows what is best for us. But like any child we try to have our own way.

So let us remember that God never stops loving us because He is love itself. He created us out of love and sustains our every moment, our every heartbeat, our every breath.

Be kind to yourself in knowing to let go and let God's grace fill us with joy and peace.

Until next time,  pax Domini.

Grateful and hearts go together

April 23, 2022.  Eve of the Feast of Divine Mercy

Grateful and hearts just go together.  Like peanut butter and jelly,  cocoa and marshmallows,  spring and allergies.....

Ok.  Couldn't resist that one!

I mentioned to Tommy that we've gone through a myriad of changes in a relatively short period of time.

Big honking changes, too. But through it all I am reminded of all the blessings.  And for that, my heart is eternally grateful.

Easter blessings.
